Mom in LONDON!

The Adventures of Sarah and Georgia!
Starting on Sunday:
I waited all morning for her to show up, just sitting at her hotel lobby. I was worried because there were major Tube closures from the airport. Luckily she's a smart cookie and got here by tansferring on buses and the tube multiple times.
Her trip was only to be 5 days long, so we got started right away by going to the British Museum. We looked at all the highlights, the Rosetta stone, the mummies, the Parthenon, and spent a while there.

Then we went and got tickets to Thriller Live- kind of a Michael Jackson tribute. It was fun, pretty much just a dance party show. One of the highlighs was the almost drunk ladies dancing and singing in front of us the whole time.
I'm sad MJ died.

Monday: we hopped on a bike tour of London, which ended up being a huge highlight for me. It was so fun to bike around and connect the city together- when you take the tube you never have a clue where you are. We went through the major parks and saw Buckingham Palace, Westminster, and just had a really good time. We stopped at a pub in the middle and ate lunch, we of course got fish and chips. I recommend it to anyone coming to London.
When we got done with biking, we went to the National Gallery so I could show her around my favorite museum. I said goodbye to all my favorite paintings.

We had plans to see Billy Elliot that night, and decided to walk to the theater. Well, it turned out to be quite a long walk- haha. But the best times are when you get lost, we saw some cool streets. And we did make it to the theater, and the show was phenomenal. We both loved it. It's one of my favorites that I've seen.

Tuesday:
Still keeping the days packed so she'd have time to see everything, we started Tuestday off by visiting Sir John Soane's house... which I hadn't been to since the beginning of the semester. She liked it a lot, it's kind of a secret of London.

Then we walked through Hyde Park because the weather had been SO beautiful, and we rented a row boat on the Serpentine. It was SO fun rowing around... we had a splendid time.

We then took a quick visit to the V&A, spending most of our time in the plaster cast rooms because they are SO cool. Then we ate at Wagamama's, which was really good, and then I was forced to study since my finals were all the next day. It was REALLY nice having her hotel to study at, because the center was a MAD HOUSE. I'm serious, everyone had gone completely insane studying so hard, and they were all quite miserable. I think I was the most sane person out of all 40 students, because I had been having an enjoyable week with Mom.

Wednesday:
FINALS. ALL DAY. AHUGHGHGRUAHAHHH!!! I had 4 finals, each with a 2 hour time slot.. you do the math. It was a lot of thinking. And on top of that, they were definitely the hardest finals I've had yet. They were all essay tests, and really hard. It was REALLY nice to get it over with. I slept well that night, believe me.
