...I see Sarah's stretchy pants.

Ok ok I'm a SUCKER for stretchy pants. It all started when Denise and I saw Nacho Libre, and started collecting them. Our combined collections really are quite impressive. Anyways, I bought these heinous gold stretchy pants. ...and I don't regret it at all. Sorry for everyone who gets blinded from looking at my thighs after this.
I went back to the British Library.... the coolest part about it is really that my teacher, Susan Howe, literally chose the syllabus for our British Lit. class by looking at places like the library. So many things in there pertain to what I'm learning. When I first got to London I was bummed about all the homework and reading assignments we were recieving because past programs have had it really easy, and we have been given SO much to do. But it REALLY has made this all more meaningful. It has been such an academic/educational experience. My teachers really care about how much we understand and learn. Anyways, at the library some of my favorite things were: The Beowulf manuscript, Jane Austen's writings/desk, Jane Eyre by Bronte, pages from Da Vinci's notebook, the Gutenburg bible (wow), and The Magna Carta. Can you believe the things that they have in that room? Ah.
I also went to the British Museum, saw the Egyptian mummies, the Rosetta Stone, the parthenon, and much much more. That place is overwhelming.
We visited the Banqueting house. Honestly, the only thing that vividly stuck with me about that place was how they made us wait an hour to go inside because they were still cleaning up from a party the night before with soldiers. When we did get inside, it smelled badly of alchohol. Haha, but it is a beautiful room with lovely painted cielings. We spent most of our time there taking dorky pictures.
I also wanted to write about yesterday just in general because it was the most beautiful day I've seen yet. It was warmer outside and sooo sunny, no clouds! Everyone was doing homework/napping inside, so I decided to take my ipod and a book and go to the park, and it was the best decision ever. I loved seeing all the people with their dogs, and the blue pond and the green grass. My music made me feel like I was in a movie, which obviously makes it even cooler to walk around. I sat by a fountain and read my Jane Austen. You're jealous.
Last night= Young Single Adults dance. I will leave it to your imagination to picture me dancing after being bottled up from music and dance for the past month. It was quite a sight to see I'm sure. As the other girls all sat in the room and did their hair and make-up and tried on 5 outfits each, I just sat, staring at the door, ready to shake my groove-thaang. (<-- mom taught me that.) When we finally got there, I danced all night and had a wonderful time.
Have I written about how much I love the markets here yet? Well I do. They are so fun, and so unique to what I'm used to. Going to the markets is one of my favorite things to do here. Portabello and Borough markets are tops.
Here are some random observations for the day:
-If you walk past a church, walk in. Some of my favorite moments are when I go and sit in the small churches that are scattered all over the city.
-Everything tastes better when bought from a vendor on the street.
-You'll never regret a run through the park.
-It's better to buy a neat antique or painting than to spend the money on clothes that won't fit you later anyways because you eat Nutella for every meal.
-It's better to travel in small groups.
-If something's gotta give, it's gotta be homework.
-If I got to choose 5 dead people I could meet, Da Vinci would definitely be one of them.
-Don't ever walk home late at night on less busy streets in a city. Really though.
-Patience is more than a virtue, it's a necessity. (I have like 36 female roomates. Beleve me.)
-If you're in London and it's sunny, GO OUT.
-If your brother is on the internet, and you are on the internet at the same time, skype him, because you will talk for and hour and make each other happy.

  3. I love your list. ps. Kacey reminds me to warn you not to cut our hair, because everyone she knew that went to London cut their hair. And she did not approve of that. Braids are still on track, I told her.
